An honest conversation with Rok Slama meant for me a view through male and above all younger eyes, since the generational differences between us are considerable, times are changing extremely fast, and younger generations today have greater access to and a wider range of awareness about mental health and interpersonal relationships.
I emphasized how extremely important it is that today younger men increasingly collaborate with their partners in understanding their inner child and the excessive expectations in a relationship that are supposed to heal all our childhood deficits.
And about the dangers of social networks and the apparent illusion of happiness that permeates our society, about the sense of being lost and the struggles of young people, for whom material goods cannot replace their parents’ time, personal interactions with peers, acceptance of their vulnerability and differences, an optimistic future, and the reform of the educational system that would empower them to better understand themselves and their potential.
